Hawthorn berries are edibleForaging for wild food in Autumn event

There’s a whole load of wild food all around us; it’s just a matter of knowing what is edible, what is poisonous and what to do with it. We’ll give you an introduction to the wild food you can forage for in the autumn including roots, fruits, nuts and wild mushrooms. There'll be plenty of useful tips on identification to stay safe while foraging for wild food, we'll cover the legal aspects of foraging so you stay on the right side of the law, discuss sustainability, look at how to prepare and cook the wild food we find and do a bit of tasting along the way.

If you would like to focus more on wild mushrooms please book onto our autumn forage at either Hamsterley Forest, Kielder Castle or at Thornley Woodlands nr Gateshead
