14th September 2019 Hamsterley Forest

Join experienced wild food forager, Bruce Ferguson, on an exploration of the wild food that comes into season in the autumn. This is the time of year to gather nuts, collect and process wild fruits, harvest wild roots and enjoy the flavours and textures of our wild mushrooms. Bruce has been foraging since the early 1980s and has a wealth of knowledge to share. Find out how to forage for wild food safely and sustainably and also how to stay on the right side of the law while you do it. You'll get a chance to taste some of the things we find as we go round the wood and get some hints on how to prepare the wild food you can gather.
